Tia Tanksley is responsible for designing, implementing and evaluating a new community group within the School of Public Health. The program aims to improve the retention and graduation rates of SPH underrepresented minority students and connect current students with both each other and professional role models in innovative and engaging ways. As a member of the Dean’s Office, Tia’s mission is to further the college’s strategic plan and support career services, academic advisors, program coordinators and the alumni community.
Before joining the SPH, Tia was the assistant director of admissions for the full-time MBA program at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. She also worked as an admissions counselor for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Maryland.
Tia earned her B.S. in deaf studies and human services from Towson University and is pursuing her M.P.A. at the University of Baltimore.
