Anton Schneider

Lecturer

Mr. Schneider is a professional with more than 25 years of experience directing global public
health programs, with a focus on social and behavior change. Most recently, he served as Senior Social and Behavioral Advisor based in USAID’s Global Health Bureau where he managed social and behavior change (SBC) activities for a broad array of emerging health threats, including COVID-19, Monkeypox, Zika and other priority zoonotic diseases. Previously he managed the Indonesia Country Office for FHI 360 in Jakarta, where he directed HIV and TB projects, managing a staff of 40. He has served as Asia Regional Advisor based in Bangkok, Thailand, where he supported infectious disease behavior change activities throughout the Asia region, including Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, and Thailand. Mr. Schneider has designed and managed programs in diverse areas of health and development, specializing in integrated strategies to influence positive behaviors. He has developed and directed innovative, comprehensive approaches to improve behavioral outcomes, linking private and public sectors, as well as service delivery and demand creation strategies. Anton has directed projects and provided technical assistance and training in more than 30 countries. He served as technical director for USAID's CHANGE Project, where he provided technical direction for innovative and state of the art behavior change and communication interventions. As Asia Regional Manager for USAID’s flagship social marketing project, he directed projects in 4 Asian countries, integrating public strategies with private sector partner collaboration, combined with community engagement. He has worked with a wide variety of partners including government, NGOs, hospitals, commercial manufacturers, private providers and media in the Middle East, Africa, the Caribbean and throughout Asia region.
