Research Summary:
Cara Grant is a lecturer in the Department of Kinesiology, and is the MCERT, Master of Education (M.Ed.) with Certification Professional Development Schools Coordinator with the College of Education. She earned her undergraduate degree from University of Maryland College Park and master's degrees from Bowie State University in secondary education with a specialization in curriculum and instruction.  Cara has been working in education, curriculum development, and teacher professional development for over 17 years in PreK-high school education and recently in higher education. She has experience supervising adapted physical education, health education, and physical education in the largest Maryland School District.  Cara Grant has experience with curriculum development, professional development, and conference presentations.  These include curriculum development work for the National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health; Discovery Education content developer and reviewer; Manuscript reviewer for the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD); Instructor and editor of Helping All Students Succeed in Physical Education, online course for adapted physical education for the Maryland State Department of Education. She is a member at large for the Maryland Association of Health and Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (MAHPERD). In addition to this, Cara has worked as a center director for Saturday School serving Grade 1 through Grade 12 students implementing English Language Arts, Math, STEM, and SAT programs. She is an active member of Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. an academic and philanthropic service organization.
