Heidi Sweely
Chief Development Officer (CDO) & Assistant Dean for Development
hsweely@umd.eduA loyal Terp alumna, Heidi Sweely is responsible for overseeing all philanthropic and alumni engagement programs for the School of Public Health at the University of Maryland (UMD). She has held positions of increasing responsibility on campus since 2018 and has served in this role since 2023.
Sweely's career has spanned both the arts and the sciences. She was an integral part of fundraising teams at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra before joining UMD in the A. James Clark School of Engineering.
Heidi graduated Summa Cum Laude from UMD with a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance and also holds a Master of Arts Management degree from Carnegie Mellon University. She lives in Gambrills, MD with her husband and two children.
