Mika Hamer

Assistant Professor, Health Policy and Management

Dr. Mika Hamer is a health services researcher and Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management. She holds an MPH and PhD from the Colorado School of public health and completed her postdoctoral training at the University of Colorado Center for Bioethics and Humanities. In her research, Dr. Hamer uses quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods approaches to explore questions at the intersection of health care policy and public health ethics. She studies the effects of health care coverage, benefit design, and reimbursement on health care access and utilization, especially among older adults and people with life-limiting conditions. Her work has been funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF).
