Dean speaking at podium during graduation

The School of Public Health is so proud of our graduating class of 2024, many of whom began their college education during a global pandemic. First on Monday, May 20, 2024 – unfortunately postponed due a power outage – and then on May 21, students, family, and friends convened in the Xfinity Center to send off this resilient, tenacious class of students to go forth and do good in the world.

We have graduates from the School of Public Health. They’ve been preparing to save lives.

Wes Moore Governor of Maryland

As Maryland Governor Wes Moore said in his remarks at the main University of Maryland commencement ceremony, “I look out on this crowd, and I see students who have spent years preparing for their next steps. We have graduates from the School of Public Health. They’ve been preparing to save lives.”

Here, see just a few pictures of our graduating students at commencement. More images can be viewed in the School of Public Health Flickr album.

Please note: For eligible graduates who were unable to walk in the rescheduled May 2024 Commencement on May 21, we invite you to take part in the 2025 Commencement ceremony. If you wish to walk at the May 2025 ceremony, please email sphcommencement@umd.edu.
