Bonnie Miranda

Bonnie Miranda is a professional cat herder and lifelong administrator formerly of the University's Office of Faculty Affairs and the Department of Biology. She is an experienced mentor and advocate for transformation, facilitating conflict resolution training and coaching global leadership programs. Throughout her last 14 consecutive years in higher education, Bonnie has worked extensively with faculty through all phases of their careers, from hiring to retiring and beyond.

In collaboration with our Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs, Bonnie manages the School of Public Health’s appointment, promotion, tenure, and evaluation processes as well as comprehensive peer review for all faculty titles and ranks. She also serves as our School’s Equal Employment Opportunity Partner and executive-level search coordinator, ensuring fairness, impartiality, and compliance with all levels of faculty hiring and professional advancement practices. Bonnie is fearlessly dedicated to bringing transparency, excellence, and compassionate care to the complex machine of academic promotion, with particular sensitivity to its impact on the mental health of pre-tenure candidates. She resides in southern Prince George's County with her husband, daughter, granddaughter, and a ridiculous herd of tiny rescue dogs.
