Dr. Jenny Hodgson currently serves as Associate Clinical Professor for the Department of Behavioral and Community Health at the University of Maryland. She oversees the online Master of Public Health program with a focus on Behavioral and Community Health and also teaches at the undergraduate-level.



She has served the School of Public Health since 2010 and appreciates the multifaceted nature of her roles, overseeing both undergraduate and graduate-level programs, teaching undergraduate students, and advising future public health professionals.

Dr. Jenny Hodgson currently serves as Associate Clinical Professor for the Department of Behavioral and Community Health at the University of Maryland. She oversees the online Master of Public Health program with a focus on Behavioral and Community Health and also teaches at the undergraduate-level.

She has served the School of Public Health since 2010 and appreciates the multifaceted nature of her roles, overseeing both undergraduate and graduate-level programs, teaching undergraduate students, and advising future public health professionals. Prior to her current roles, Dr. Hodgson served in the Department of Behavioral and Community Health as the Undergraduate Program Director.

Dr. Hodgson earned her Ed.D in Educational Leadership from Frostburg State University with a focus on Higher Education Leadership. Also, as a proud alum from the School of Public Health's Department of Behavioral and Community Health (B.S. and MPH), Dr. Hodgson is thrilled at the opportunity to shape the educational experience for our students while sharing her enthusiasm for public health. 

She has previously worked as a policy analyst contractor for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), as well as for a contract research organization, addressing patient issues related to access to vaccinations. 

Dr. Hodgson is proud to have been the recipient of the Universities at Shady Grove Outstanding Academic Program Leadership Award (2023), the Department of Behavioral and Community Health 3.5 Club for Teaching Excellence Award (2017), the SPH Gloria Friedgen School Spirit Award (2016-2017), and the UMD Outstanding Academic Advisor Award (2011).
