Originally from New Jersey, Renee started her college education at Fairleigh Dickinson University where she was a business major and a division I sabre fencer. Deciding to emphasize academics, she transferred to the Rochester Institute of Technology, majoring in Business Management. Upon graduating she started her career in higher education working as the Undergraduate Coordinator for the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Rochester. From there she returned to her alma mater, RIT, to work as an advisor for the Saunders School of Business. While at RIT she earned her master’s in Human Resource Development, with an emphasis on the training, development, and strategic planning in relation to human capital. Eventually Renee moved to the Baltimore-Washington area and took the position as a Senior Academic Advisor for the Krieger School of Arts & Sciences at Johns Hopkins. From there she decided to become a Terp and was an advisor in the Department of Kinesiology in the School of Public Health. Now is the Assistant Director of CASA. She primarily works with students that are struggling academically. She teaches UNIV100 each fall and is excited to introduce a new course for struggling students, SPHL246 Terp Restoration.
Outside of work Renee spends her time with her husband, Kristian, daughter Vivan, and Bernese Mountain dog, Waffle. She also enjoys CrossFit, hiking, attempting to garden, reading, cooking, and baking.
