Tracy Zeeger

Dr. Tracy Zeeger is a seasoned academic administrator with over 20 years of experience in higher education.  As Assistant Dean of Public Health Practice and Community Engagement, Dr. Zeeger is passionate about building practical opportunities for students, such as internships, fieldwork experiences, and community-based projects, to help them translate their academic learning into real-world impact.

Dr. Zeeger has a proven track record of working with health departments and school systems to strengthen health education, ensuring that students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to address public health challenges. Dr. Zeeger oversees the Department of Behavioral and Community Health’s undergraduate program, providing guidance and support to over 200 students ensuring they are trained and ready to serve the field of public health through a full-time, 12 credit internship their final semester in the program demonstrating commitment to fostering academic excellence and developing innovative programs that bridge theory and practice.  

Dr. Zeeger advises serveral student groups including Eta Sigma Gamma, the American Medical Women's Association, and the Terrapin Think Tank. Additionally, Dr. Zeeger teaches a variety of courses throughout the BS, Public Health Practice curriculum including Women's Health and Foundations of Public Health. 

Nationally, Dr. Zeeger is Distinguished Fellow of the Public Health Academy within the National Academies of Practice. In this role, Dr. Zeeger works with colleagues across the country to advocate the value of interprofessional practice and improve healthcare and policy for all through education, collaboration, scholarship, and research.
