Public Health Science

The School of Public Health offers an interdisciplinary undergraduate program in Public Health Science. The core knowledge areas of public health overlay a rigorous foundation in chemistry, anatomy and physiology, microbiology, genetics, and math.

Public Health Science students engage with every department in the School of Public Health, from epidemiology and biostatistics, to environmental health and health policy, to community and global health.

Students have the opportunity for individual exploration in public health through coursework, laboratory experiences, optional internships on or off campus, and a culminating research-based capstone course. Public Health Science students enter public health and healthcare professions prepared to address the growing health challenges of  today.

Students can obtain the University of Maryland’s Bachelor of Science in Public Health Science on the campus at College Park or at the Universities at Shady Grove.
