Location: School of Public Health, Ground Floor Concourse

Students, faculty and community partners are invited to share innovations and new research directions at the SPH Research, Practice and Innovation Poster Session. This annual event is taking place at the School of Public Health this year and is an opportunity to learn more about new and ongoing public health projects related to research, practice and innovation throughout our region. Faculty, undergraduate and graduate students throughout the University of Maryland, College Park and the University of Maryland, Baltimore campuses may submit posters to present and discuss at the event and to be part of the student poster competition.

As in the past, posters may include research projects as well as public health practice projects. Only student presented posters will be judged in the competition.

This year’s competition judging is led by Professor Dina Borzekowski in her role as the Director of Student Research for the Delta Omega Gamma Zeta Chapter leadership team.

*New in 2022, we are adding a poster category and prize for “Innovative Solutions to Public Health Challenges" and for Research on Health Disparities, in memory of Mitchell Stewart (son of SPH staff member Cynthia Kershaw).  Presenters are asked to identify a major public health challenge; propose a creative, cutting-edge solution (approach) using a tool, program, and/or policy to explore and address this challenge; and project estimated health and well-being outcomes.

This event was previously part of Public Health Research @ Maryland which is being held virtually this year and co-sponsored as in past years by the University of Maryland School of Public Health and the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

NOTE: The deadline for poster submission is March 29, 2022.
