Congratulations to Anna Posbergh, a kinesiology doctoral student in the physical cultural studies group who is advised by Dr. Shannon Jette, for receiving the American Association of University Women (AAUW) American Fellowship! Posbergh's research interests include sex testing, the ethics of policy, and women in sports.

Kirsten Peterman Receives Poster Presentation Award for COVID-19 and Mental Health Research

Congratulations to Kirsten Peterman, a Master of Arts in Kinesiology student studying Cognitive Motor Neuroscience, for her second place finish in the Public Health Research Day Poster Presentation. Her poster is titled "Will There Be a Season? The Impact of COVID-19 on Anxiety Within NCAA Student-Athletes and Non-Athlete University Students."

Helping Foster Dogs Prepare for Their Forever Homes

Our Happiness and Wellness Initiative shares "Some Good News" from the SPH and our extended community. You can submit your own good news by email to: happyandwell@umd.edu. Gymkana Director Josh Montfort ‘93, MS ‘96, UMD Senate Director Reka Montfort ‘99 and their family have fostered 65 dogs since March 2019. Pet parenting took on new meaning during the pandemic when they welcomed seven puppies into their home and their fostering turned into adoption. Their newest love is a 16 week old puppy named Tucker.
