Typhanye Dyer Prioritizes Student Happiness and Wellness

Typhanye Dyer, associate professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, is prioritizing the happiness and self-care of her students. Each morning, Typhanye sends a ‘feel good’ story, action for happiness and a self-care tip. She finds that Incorporating daily wellness practices into her class benefits her students and herself.

A Parting Gift Touched with Gold

While it wasn’t the goodbye Dr. Robert S. Gold hoped for (due to COVID), the School of Public Health recognized his retirement from the University of Maryland and celebrated his legacy as the SPH’s founding dean with a heartfelt Zoom tribute in May. League of Conservation Voters to Recognize Sacoby Wilson for Outstanding Environmental Contributions

Dr. Sacoby Wilson will receive the Maryland League of Conservation Voter’s (Maryland LCV) John V. Kabler Memorial Award at their annual event, Changemakers: Celebrating Environmental Leaders, on September 23, 2021. The award recognizes an outstanding environmental leader or organization. Previous winners include Congressman Wayne Gilchrest (2008) and DNR Secretary John Griffin (2012).
