The Clean 2020 Virtual Summit is bringing together thought leaders from from business, policy, standards development, engineering and public health to work together to control viral transmission in the built environment. Four SPH experts have been involved in the collaborative effort - Assistant Professor Jennifer Roberts, Professor Donald Milton, Professor Sandra Quinn and Dean Boris Lushniak. 

Dr. Sandra C. Quinn, professor and chair of the Department of Family Science in the School of Public Health, who studies how misinformation on social media may impact attitudes about vaccines and vaccine uptake, has joined colleagues from George Washington University and Johns Hopkins University to launch the platform, which will collect data resources and publications.

The COVID-19 pandemic has become a global public health crisis and poses unprecedented challenges to the national health and lives of our residents. The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics held a seminar series on the epidemiology of the COVID-19 pandemic in the US, the state of Maryland and the world. The seminar series featured presentations delivered by frontline public health experts, community members and epidemiologists.

The University of Maryland School of Public Health is proud to award its highest honor, the Distinguished Terrapin Award, to four outstanding members of the SPH community. Each honoree was selected for their professional and philanthropic contributions as well as for their service to the school and/or advancement of one of the dean’s strategic priorities.
