The research team for the COVID-19 vaccine communication project regularly posts a newsletter with trending topics about the COVID-19 vaccines. These “Hot Topics” inform community leaders about the latest vaccine news and guide conversations about the shots with their communities.

Digital technologies are vital platforms and tools for people to find and use health information and services. People use these technologies to communicate and share with healthcare providers, public officials, researchers, peers, and friends and family about health. The Horowitz Center identifies digital health research and teaching as a top priority.
The Horowitz Center has a variety of projects that focus on diabetes prevention and management.
- We work with the Maryland Department of Health to implement the Maryland Diabetes Action Plan with the local health improvement coalitions
- We help implement and evaluate diabetes prevention and management programs

Our eighth annual Public Health Research at Maryland conference was held virtually from Tuesday, April 13 through Thursday, April 15, 2021.
The event theme—Learning from 2020 to Advance the Public's Health—considered lessons from 2020 related to public health preparedness, social and racial injustice, the dangers of health misinformation, physical inactivity and more.
