Maryland Signs Partnership with Kenya’s Daystar University

The University of Maryland has formalized one of its global partnerships, solidifying an existing relationship and opening the doors for enhanced collaboration. In May, School of Public Health Dean Boris Lushniak along with Dean Craig Beyrouty of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, signed a memorandum of understanding with Vice Chancellor Laban Ayiro of Daystar University in Kenya.

Faculty and Staff Honored at Spring Assembly

On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, SPH faculty and staff convened for the spring assembly which included the annual awards ceremony honoring outstanding teaching, public health practice, service, mentoring and commitment to the school’s success and community. Internship Details 

The Environmental Justice (EJ) Summer Scholars program is a paid, annual internship sponsored by the Center for Community Engagement, Environmental Justice and Health (CEEJH). The program will select up to 20 undergraduate students enrolled in colleges and universities in the mid-Atlantic region (DC, MD, VA and DE) who are passionate about environmental and climate justice.

DTA Winners 2022

School of Public Health Honors Five Boosters

This May, the University of Maryland School of Public Health recognized five outstanding members of the SPH community. Four individuals received the Distinguished Terrapin Award, the school's highest honor, and another received the Early Career Award. The awardees were recognized at the Dean's Recognition Ceremony on May 13, 2022 which was attended by members of the SPH Dean's Council, supporters and friends of the school, along with faculty, staff and students.
