Public Health Meet & Greet: Explore & Connect with Public Health Opportunities

The event is targeted to the students in SPH's academic programs, but is open to all UMD students. We hope to expose students to a wide variety of public health career paths through potential jobs, internships or graduate school options that organizations may have to offer.

An important function of the Office of Public Health Practice and Community Engagement is to compile and create resources and best practices guides for community engagement and public health practice. One way that we do this is through the Practice Opportunities Board where current public health practice opportunities are posted on an ongoing basis.

A key function of the Office of Public Health Practice and Community Engagement is to be an incubator, catalyzer, and central convener of public health practice projects. The majority of these projects will be housed in a variety of the School of Public Health's departments and centers. Larger projects may be housed in the Office of Public Health Practice and Community Engagement. The office is committed to fostering student learning and development around public health practice and community engagement.

The Office of Public Health Practice and Community Engagement is a team effort that involves UMD SPH faculty, staff, students, and alumni, the broader UMD community, and residents and leaders in all 23 Maryland counties and Baltimore City. We have a key team within the School of Public Health that helps to move the work forward.
