The University of Maryland School of Public Health's Community Advisory Council plays a valuable role in connecting the University of Maryland School of Public Health to the broader community. The SPH benefits from the time and expertise provided by our well-rounded and diverse council.
University of Maryland School of Public Health's Dean's Council, established in fall 2017, provides strategic advice to help the School achieve its mission: to inspire fearless ideas that promote health for all. The members are an engaged, strategic, informed and invested group of volunteers who provide senior-level advocacy for, and service to the School of Public Health. They share advice, counsel, perspective, connections and the provision of support to the Dean of the School.
The University of Maryland School of Public Health Office of Planning and Evaluation (OPE) is part of the Dean's Office and is directed by Dr. Amelia Arria, with support from her faculty and students.

The 2019 Mid Maryland Mission of Mercy and Health Equity Festival was held on September 13 and September 14 at the UMD Xfinity Center. The free adult dental care clinic and health equity festival was a collaborative effort by the Maryland Center for Health Equity, Catholic Charities of Washington and the dental and health care community to provide free emergency dental care to the poor and underserved.

Statement of Purpose

Serve as a forum to ensure that the results of health science research benefit vulnerable populations, especially in African American and Latino neighborhoods where people suffer from a greater burden of preventable illness and premature death. The aims of MD-CRAB are to:
