Dr. Barbara Curbow, was professor and chair of the Department of Behavioral and Community Health in the School of Public Health at the University of Maryland from 2013-2019. Dr. Curbow’s research interests fall within these general areas: cancer prevention and control, medical treatment decision making, health disparities, and health communication.
Dr. Robert S. Gold was the founding dean of the University of Maryland School of Public Health and is professor emeritus in the Department of Behavioral and Community Health. Dr. Gold holds a PhD from the University of Oregon and a Dr.P.H. from the University of Texas School of Public Health. He has 50 years of experience in academia and public health, with most work involved with the application of information technologies to public health.
Regi Corbie graduated from the UMD Couple and Family Therapy Masters Program. He worked on several affiliated projects and helped support the implementation of our SGDLC randomized controlled trial. He is currently a practicing mental health care provider in the DMV area.
David Hawthorne is a graduate student in Behavioral and Community Health and was a UMD-PRC graduate research assistant from 2019-2023. David helped support several projects, including our SGDLC randomized control trial and the development and delivery of the virtual simulated client evaluator.
Madeline Pheasant is a PhD student in Criminology and Criminal Justice at UMD. She helped support data collection and cleaning during our SGDLC randomized controlled trial.
M Pease is a doctoral student in counseling psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park. M support center communication and social media from 2019-2023.
John Salerno obtained his PhD in Behavioral & Community Health and is currently a Provost's Postdoctoral Research Scientist and Lecturer at the Columbia University School of Social Work. He was an active researcher with the UMD-PRC as a graduate student and founded the LGBTQ+ Students and Allies in Public Health student group.
Hannah Tralka (they/them) is a current MSW student at Denver University, focused on supporting trans mental health. They have eight plus years of experience in LGBTQ+ sexual, mental, and physical health advocacy, research, training, and programming. They are a proud alumni of UMD-College Park's Psychology Department and former faculty research assistant for the UMD-PRC.
